Ok, so I try to write regularly about haiku. My aim is to do this every day, but as you can see I don't always succeed! Why do I wish to discuss haiku so very much? What is it about haiku? That is a good question. You may think that haiku focus solely on the here and now, in the present moment. In that way they could be described as mindful. They usually include a line about the seasons and nature. However, haiku can be many things, and this depends on your perspective I think. So, as it is Friday as I write this, here is a different kind of haiku, one born from my imagination.
Seaweed in her hair
around her neck
the southern cross
In this haiku I have drawn on both mythology and astronomy, to create what I hope is a feeling of mystery. Let me know what you think.
